Whipped Nappy Cream

I use raw shea butter & coconut oil for my hair & body because of their moisturizing properties so I knew it would be perfect as a diaper/nappy rash cream.

Benefits of Coconut Oil
1.Contains Vitamin E which is excellent for hydrating your skin.
2.Softens the skin.
3.Mimics sebum in your skin so it can clear dirt & dead skin.
4.Has anti-bacterial & anti-fungal properties.

Benefits of Raw Shea Butter
1. Has Vitamin A & E which promote skin elasticity & soothes irritating and painful rashes.
2.Contains essential fatty acids & has moisturizing anti-oxidant compounds.
3.It has anti-inflammatory,anti-fungal & yeast killing properties.

You'll need;
Coconut Oil (cold pressed)
Raw Shea Butter
Hand Blender/Spoon/Fork

How to whip the cream;
In a bowl add your shea butter & coconut oil & whip it real good.

After bumping for 290 days, hubby & I were blessed with a baby girl.Its been an amazing two weeks, from learning how to breastfeed, diapering & even trying to put a two week old on a routine....jokes.hehehehe

I finally got to edit the bump pics my sister shot last month.Going through these photos I can't believe I'm almost due.It's been an amazing experience even with nausea, constipation(the big pregnancy secret), fatigue, anxiety & everything in between.

FLAT TWISTS VS PERM ROD SET

I love styling my hair. My favourite style is twists but I wanted to try flat twists & perm rod set to see which style would stretch my hair.You can check my wash day routine here. Perm rods gave me tight curls with no stretch & flat twists stretched my hair but curl definition was not that tight. Make sure your hair is completely dry when you unravel your twists & when you remove your rods. What is your fav style?

OVERNIGHT OATS

I love overnight oats cause its so easy to make & you can tweak it with your favourite seeds,nuts,dried fruits or fresh fruits.It's my fav in-between meals snack but its perfect for breakfast or lunch.

You'll need;
1/4 cup Oats(use jumbo oats/rolled oats)
1/4 cup Yoghurt
Sesame Seeds
Sunflower Seeds
Crushed Almonds
Sultanas
Groundnuts

1.Add all your ingredients to a mason jar/container with a lid.
2.Fasten the lid & shake till everything is combined.
3.Refrigerate overnight.
4.Serve cold or warm.

DROP WAIST DRESS

Week 30 woop woop... 10 more weeks till DH & I meet our baby. Talking of DH,he saw this dress & was like uhmmm why is the band/waist so low?...hehehe. Nway I love my drop waist dress cause there is so much room for the bump. I also like how over-sized the top is & just below the bump,elastic band holds everything together. My hair is an old bantu knot out. Happy new week.

My Natural Hair Routine

I big chopped two years ago & I have been experimenting with different products & styles to grow healthy hair.I change my routine once in a while to add new products,to stop what doesn't work & at times to just have fun with my hair.

My hair routine....

Wash Day.
I wash my hair weekly.I usually co-wash(washing hair with a conditioner) & shampoo once a month with black soap.After washing I do a herbal hair rinse or onion water rinse.

Hot Oil Treatment.
I warm coconut oil by placing it in a container with warm water.Then I massage the oil into my scalp then cover it with a plastic container.I can let the oil sit in my hair for 30 minutes or overnight for best results.Then I deep condition my hair.

Hair Rinse.
1.Herbal Hair Rinse...I boil rosemary with water & let it cool.Strain & then I rinse my hair with the infused water.
2.Onion Water....I add dried onion skins in a glass jar & add hot water.I let it steep overnight then use it as a final rinse when I wash my hair.Helps with dandruff.

Deep Condition/Protein Treatment.
I do it weekly after co-washing.I make my own deep condition with mayo,hibiscus powder,honey,coconut milk, my oil mix.I can't stand eggs at the moment.

Moisturizing Natural Hair.
I moisturize daily.My hair is low porosity, so it needs all the help it can get. I use a diy leave-in conditioner.My Spritz bottle has water,aloe vera gel,honey & at times I add store bought leave in conditioner.Then I lock in the moisture with my oil mix(coconut & avocado) & seal with my whipped shea butter(shea butter,coconut oil,jbco,avocado oil).

Styling.
I use styling gels for my low manipulation hair styles.I use flax seed gel & I recently bought Eco styler gel with olive oil & it's just perfect for my wash-n-gos.

TWIST-OUTS x FLORAL

I changed my hair regimen & I love how my hair is responding.I'm into low manipulation styles at the moment & twist are my fav cause they ate,im always hungry lol, are so easy to do.On to my outfit,stretch fabric is your bff when you are bumping.This is a maxi dress I bought pre-pregnancy & at 24 weeks I can still wear it.

HOMEMADE ICE CREAM

You'll need;
1 frozen banana
1/4 cup strawberries
vanilla extract/essence
1/2 cup milk

>>Add your ingredients to your blender & blend till ice cream consistency.
>>Transfer ice cream to a freezer container.
>>Freeze until solid.
>>Scoop with ice cream scoop or just a regular spoon & serve.

Happy Thursday everyone, I hope you are keeping warm.Wore my cami & ripped jeans a while back when it was warm hot.If I was to restyle this ensemble,for this new weather,I would just add a blazer.
